Greetings to all esteemed members of the Polkadot community. We are the Polkadot Ecology Research Institute, a well-known research organization from the Chinese Polkadot community. We are submitting a new treasury proposal to request operating expenses from October 2023 to March 2024. This is a formal application, and below is our development process for your reference.
Polkadot Ecology Research Institute was founded in October 2020, it has been in operation for exactly three years. In the past 36 months, we've produced 185 in-depth articles on Polkadot ecology, with an average of over 5,000 words per article and some even exceeding 10,000 words. In total, we have generated over 1 million words of original content and have become the most productive research institution for Polkadot original content production in the Chinese community.
Our original content has been recommended by many well-known global media outlets, including Tencent News, Jinse Finance, MarsBit News, Odaily, Tuoluo Tech, CC Value, Huoxun Finance, Cointelegraph, Metaverse Hub, 8btc, PANews, Web3Caff, Foresight News and Blocklike.
Moreover, we are the only Chinese media outlet that publishes content on Polkadot's official Medium, which was shared by Polkadot's official Twitter and liked by Gavin. You can find our contributions here.
Our story with Polkadot dates back to 2019 when we started promoting Polkadot in China. We also co-hosted the 2019 Polkadot China Tour and held a significant offline event in Chengdu, where Polkadot founder Gavin Wood was in attendance, which became Gavin's last personal participation in a Polkadot community event due to COVID-19.
Therefore, our involvement with Polkadot's development in the Chinese community has been ongoing for nearly five years. We have passionately contributed to the construction and growth of Polkadot within the Chinese community, witnessing its progress from inception to its current state. If you were to inquire about us within the Chinese community, it is highly likely that you would hear about our experiences.
Besides content creation and production, we have actively promoted Polkadot in various communities and events. In the past few years, we have participated in over 60 events, and as guests, we have continually taken part in the global sharing activities of the Polkadot Decoded Community Conference in both 2022 and 2023. Up to now, we have reached out to more than 30,000 people in our promotions throughout China.
In addition, we have been empowering the development of the Polkadot ecosystem. So far, we have provided content/activity/community support to more than 100 Polkadot ecosystem projects to meet their needs for ecological development. Although we are based on the Chinese market, but we have also offered help and support to many global Polkadot ecosystem projects, as a non-profit contribution.
The above are the contributions we have made to Polkadot in China over the past few years. However, it may not be possible to fully introduce our experiences and dedication, but every word and sentence in our content reflects the efforts we have invested in the development of the Polkadot ecosystem.
In this proposal, we are applying for 6 months of operating funds mainly to cover daily personnel expenses, amounting to 28010 DOT (about 104760 USD). This is also our seventh time submitting a Polkadot Treasury application. You can refer to the detailed proposal here.
In fact, apart from personnel expenses, we have always borne the business costs and travel expenses for participating in various Polkadot events ourselves over the past several years, and this continues with this proposal.
Perhaps many overseas members do not fully understand the influence of Polkadot in China. Nevertheless, the success of Polkadot today cannot be separated from the development and assistance of the Chinese community. Although compared to the previous years, the overall market for Polkadot has been a decline, and many media and KOLs have left the Polkadot ecosystem, we still insist on producing content because we are optimistic about the future development of Polkadot, and we have faith that Gavin's vision for Web3 will ultimately come to fruition.
