Good Morning!
I am Tommi Enenkel, also known as Alice und Bob (Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn). This is my application as Polkadot Head Ambassador.
In Polkadot, I co-founded ChaosDAO and OpenGov.Watch. I am a Web3 strategist specializing in ecosystem development, governance, analytics, and crypto-economics. I previously held CIO and CMO roles and have a systems architecture and political communications background. I hold an MSc in Knowledge Management and IT Security. My master’s thesis explored agile software development and governance practices in open-source communities.
Some highlights:
I am curating a dedicated page with more info about my portfolio. Check it out here:
Things I expect from Head Ambassadors:
As such, these are also the things I strive to do.
At the moment, I have a contract with the Web3 Foundation as part of Decentralized Futures and I do not require additional pay. Under the current situation, I would not use the compensation as salary. I would only use it to pay for operational costs like content production & traveling to events where I represent Polkadot. The primary focus would be to hire a video producer to ramp up production.
I work exclusively for Polkadot. I consider my main line of work at the moment as ecosystem development, which consists of solving problems, analyzing things, and sharing knowledge.
I spend significant time preparing and presenting presentations for conferences as well as agenda-setting and narrative development on Twitter, so imo there is a strong synergy to the role. I believe that the Ambassador program is very important for the community development of Polkadot and will provide the time that the role requires to help it come to fruition.
If it turns out that my other responsibilities are not compatible time-wise or a larger part of the community is not happy with my performance, I will offer the place to someone else.
I am in the process of proposing a new Ecosystem Development Collective which I hope to co-lead. Should that situation become a reality and be incompatible with the HA role, I will also give the HA spot to the next candidate.
Threshold
I have been following Tommi's online content since he started producing it, and I also met him in person multiple times at various Polkadot events. I always find his technical eduction pieces and governance analysis to be extremely informative, and -- contrary to what others have said in these comments -- very timely.
There is a saying "you first do the job, then you get the job". Tommi has undoubtedly been an unofficial Polkadot Ambassador for a long time already, it's time to give him the title as well!
Tommy, I respect you and value your contribution and intelligence, but with this application, you are supporting the wrong side and opening the way for other legitimate Polkadot players to join this unfair play and oppose yourself hundreds ex-Ambassadors who was throw back by this initiative. Honestly it's a pity.
This is not Polkadot Ambassador Program it's the Whale Ambassador Program
I vote NAY for all candidates who applied , here are the reasons and explanations:
Tommi has been a great spokesman for Polkadot and done a lot of work to improve both communication and planning within the community as well as educating folks outside the community!
P.S. my main vote comes via Bifrost VDOT and is much larger than what is shown here
Edited
I have been observing A&B's work for some time now. I find him to be a serious and dedicated person. I support his candidacy and wish him the best of luck in this challenge.
What I really like about your proposal, Tommi, is that you will not only focus on BD and video production, but you are keen to help the Ambassador organisation to function in a healthy and cohesive way. You should know that the Ambassador program has become somewhat ownerless and leaderless in the last six months since the last December when W3F and Parity left the program on its own. There is a great need for HAs that can bring together an unstructured, globally dispersed community like the Ambassador Program and have the ability to, albeit decentralized, but still steer the community in one direction and in the right direction in terms of narratives, workflows and community spirit.
I am confident that you will become one of the Head Ambassadors that have been elected to the collective so far, and I hope to see your community organising skills as you proposed reflected in the Ambassador Program. So I support your candidacy on my behalf and on behalf of the Polkadot Hungary Community. Good luck!
You haven't delivered anything of substance yet. Your takes are consistently 6-12 months behind the current happenings. I would like to see more out of you before promoting you to HA.
