PolkaWorld Ops and Maintenance proposal:2023.10 - 2024.3

Hey community! After our 116th Opengov referendum was rejected, PolkaWorld has made adjustments to the proposal based on community feedback.

This is a proposal for community operational funding from October 2023 to March 2024. In this proposal, for those who may not be familiar with PolkaWorld, we've included the story of PolkaWorld, as well as the philosophy and principles we've adhered to over the past four years of operation. We've also made adjustments and optimizations to our work tasks for the next six months. In addition to content production, we've expanded to include marketing efforts as well. 

In addition to the revised OKRs and budget, we've also addressed questions raised by the community. Please review our proposal here and cast your vote!

Hey, January 2024! PolkaWorld had a very fulfilling first month of 2024! The approval of Bitcoin ETF brought a historic moment to the crypto community! It was an exciting month for the Polkadot ecosystem as well! Some highlights:

  • The Polkadot meme continued to ferment.
  • Over 5.2 million DOTs staked in Bifrost, topping the ecosystem for the first time!
  • Manta achieved asset transfers between its L1 and L2 (Manta Pacific) through Moonbeam.
  • The largest-ever social network Web3 migration, with MeWe successfully moving 500,000 users to the Polkadot ecosystem's Frequency parachain.
  • Fellowship Call updated key to progress, with Coretime starting its test sales on Rococo!
  • The Web3 Foundation announced the first 'Decentralized Future' project grantee!
  • Snowbridge successfully bridged between Polkadot and Ethereum testnets!
  • Kusama Referendum 328 passed, upgrading the Kusama relay chain and system parachains to runtime 1’001’000, bringing many changes - activating BEEFY, asynchronous backing, various treasury and governance updates, etc.

Surrounding these fantastic developments, PolkaWorld has accomplished the following tasks:

  1. Published 33 articles, garnering 27,000+ views, with the most-read article reaching 2,441 views, an article about the Polkadot meme - DED!
  2. Hosted 6 online live streams, which attracted 2,606 participants for interactive sessions. The most attended was an online panel discussion featuring Moonbeam, Dota, Acala, Bifrost, and Tanssi, discussing the topic 'Looking Ahead to Polkadot 2024: Inscriptions, Coretime, LSD, Applications.' This session reached 806 viewers.
  3. We produced 4 educational short videos, which in total garnered 4,836 views within the WeChat ecosystem, averaging over 1,200 views per video. The video with the highest viewership (2,084) was - "Bitcoin ETF Approved When DOT? Data Analysis of Polkadot 1.0 & 2.0." (this performance data is just within the WeChat ecosystem, you can also find these videos on the PolkaWorld YouTube channel).
  4. Conducted an exclusive interview with DED contributor, Giotto, who is also a very active participant in OpenGov.
  5. Hosted an X Space with people from DOTA, BNCS, and Web3 Foundation to discuss the inscription in Polkadot. 13.4k tuned in the space.
