Updated Tip for Lily for Work on Bounties

This tip is made for the recent contribution of Lily Mendz to the Polkadot DAO related to bringing transparency to the bounties in Polkadot.

Dune Dashboard for Bounties

The purpose is threefold:

To reward a significant piece of needed work that combines not only research and analysis, but also has thought put into the usability and consumability of the deliverables, with a PDF, forum post and Dune Dashboard.
To highlight an individual contribution, taken on one’s own initiative, to see a problem nobody else is solving and step up to fix it. This is the spirit and behavior needed for Polkadot to be successful long term.
To signal to the DAO that we need to start to find ways to celebrate the accomplishments of our peers, and show appreciation for contributions.

Here is the problem we think the bounties book / dune dashboard solves: While bounties are all on-chain, it’s difficult to actually understand what bounties are available, because the information is hard to find. There is no easy place to discover if there is an applicable bounty to help individuals who may need funding. In addition, we don’t have any available tracking of bounty spends, without a good amount of manual work (either from the bounty curator team or from an interested individual). The Dune Dashboard should save everyone time. This solution may not be the be-all and end-all, but it’s a great step (and Lily has mentioned she will keep developing it), especially as we keep a closer eye on treasury spending.

While Lily has spent a significant amount of time (self-reported ~70 hours) on this project at the time of the announcement, this tip is not meant to reflect any particular hourly rate to be applied to Lily’s work. We have not corresponded with her previously, nor was she expecting this.

Why DOT and not USDC or USDT? While the ultimate use of funds is up to her, we think in this situation that DOT can give Lily a greater voice in governance and align her interests with the network longer term.

Lily Mendz worked hard to create a guide about bounties in Polkadot to make it easier for people to find funding.
This tip is a reward for her contributions, which include a PDF, a forum post, and a Dune Dashboard to help track bounties.
There was a problem with finding information about available bounties, and Lily's work aims to solve this.
The Dune Dashboard helps save time by tracking bounty spending in a clear way.
The tip amount is lower as requested by Lily and does not reflect an hourly rate for her work.
Giving her DOT instead of other currencies helps Lily have a stronger say in decisions for the Polkadot network.
Many people in the DAO thanked Lily for her efforts and contributions to the project.
